FX Developing American Psycho TV Series
With Dexter leaving the airwaves later this month, the search for the next great TV serial killer is on. With Hannibal bloodying up NBC, FX now appears to be getting into the ultra-anti-hero game.
Deadline reports that the network is in the process of developing a TV series based on American Psycho, the controversial 2000 film adapted from Brett Easton Ellis’ equally controversial 1991 novel.
According to the article, the show will take place decades after the events of the Mary Harron-directed film, with middle-aged killer Patrick Bateman (played in the film by Christian Bale) training a protégée to follow in his footsteps. Writer Stefan Jaworski will pen the project.
Here’s hoping this helps push along the proposed American Psycho musical.
