Iggy Pop Replaces Roger Daltrey as Once Upon a Time in Wonderland's Caterpillar
Punk icon Iggy Pop is set to go down the rabbit hole.
Entertainment Weekly reports that The Stooges frontman and “Lust for Life” singer has just signed on to voice the hookah-smoking Caterpillar in the upcoming ABC fantasy drama Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. Based on the famed Lewis Carroll stories, the show serves as spin-off of the hit ABC show Once Upon a Time, which takes place in a modern-day, “real world” Maine town where fairy tale characters have been transported.
The Caterpillar previously made an appearance on a Once Upon a Time episode where he was voiced by another famous ‘70s frontman: The Who’s Roger Daltrey. Pop apparently signed on after Daltrey was unable to reprise his role.
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland is slated to premiere on October 10.
