Samsung to Develop Smartphones With 64-Bit Processors
While mobile business chief Shin Jong-kyun went onto say that the phones wouldn’t be available in the “shortest time,” he did say that the 64-bit phones would be the next ones released by Samsung.
Samsung’s announcement follows yesterday’s debut of Apple’s newest iPhones: 5S and 5C. Of Apple’s two newest offerings, only the 5S will feature the A7 chip with 64-bit processing capabilities. The 5C will still have the A6 chip.
According to Apple, the A7 chip will be twice as fast as the A6 and the chip boasts “desktop-class architecture in a super-slim phone.”
The Samsung phones expected to feature 64-bit processors in the future are from the Samsung Galaxy smartphone line.
