Sigur Rós to Appear on Game of Thrones

Entertainment Weekly has reported that Icelandic band Sigur Rós will be featured in the fourth season of the HBO series Game of Thrones.

According to the report, Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are fans of the band and frequently play their music when filming the show.

Sigur Rós will join the growing list of bands that have made contributions to the show. The National and The Hold Steady have both recorded tracks for the Game of Thrones soundtracks. Coldplay’s Will Champion and Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody have also made appearances on the show.

According to EW, members Jónsi, Georg Hólm and Orri Páll Dyrason will all make an appearance during the show’s fourth season. This is the second television appearance this year for Sigur Rós. In May, the Icelandic band made a guest appearance on an episode of The Simpsons.

Season four of Game of Thrones is set to premiere in early 2014 on HBO.
