Warner Bros. to Partner With J.K. Rowling for New Film Series
Fans of J.K. Rowling are in for a treat.
Warner Brothers Entertainment announced this morning via Twitter an “extended creative partnership” with Rowling that would “[span] all Warner Bros.’ Harry Potter businesses plus more.”
According to reports, Warner Brothers and Rowling are working together to develop a film series inspired by Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a textbook that Harry Potter used extensively during his time at Hogwarts.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be the first in this series of original films that will mark Rowling’s screenwriting debut, The Wrap reports.
However, those dying for the boy wizard’s return to the big screen will sadly be disappointed. Instead, the new film series will revolved around Newt Scamander, the fictitious author of the textbook.
