Watch Kurt Vile Cover The Clash's "Guns of Brixton"
Kurt Vile and politically charged British punk-rock may seem like an odd combination—but darn it if that’s not what the Internet is for.
In conjunction with Google Plus, the Philadelphia-born indie rocker has released a cover of The Clash’s “Guns of Brixton.”
The performance is but one part of a large-scale project from Google concerning the band. In celebration of the massive Clash box set released earlier this week, the company has gathered an impressive array of special features. In addition to filming covers from other well-regarded modern bands, including Thao with the Get Down Stay Down and Surfer Blood, Google Play has put together a five-part documentary on the influential punk band titled “Audio Ammunition” that you can currently view on YouTube.
