Arcade Fire Rumored to Play Surprise Brooklyn Shows During CMJ
As music fans flock to New York City this week for CMJ, Arcade Fire looks to add a little extra excitement to the festivities.
Arcade Fire, aka “The Reflektors,” are expected to play two shows this week in Brooklyn, according to fan site Arcade Fire Tube (@ArcadeFiretube). The fan site announced yesterday that it had received confirmation from the band’s management: “It’s definitely happening. Got confirmation from Arcade Fire’s management. Only question is where.”
Promotional posters for a show featuring The Reflektors began showing up in Brooklyn over the weekend. The advertisement features the album art from the “Reflektor” single and lists two shows on Oct. 18 and 19 in Brooklyn. The sign says “Formal attire or costume is mandatory,” and the event includes “Prizes for the best costume.”
Other mysterious photos have surfaced over the weekend, including the one above on Arcade Fire’s website thereflektors.com. Fans are speculating that the photo has something to do with the location of the Brooklyn venue Arcade Fire will be performing.
In addition to announcing their surprise shows, Arcade Fire also released another audio teaser titled “Awful Sound.” Reflektor is out Oct. 29.
