Banksy's Unpublicized Art Stand Sells Signed, Original Canvases for $60
Banksy, the famously secretive British graffiti artist known only by his pseudonym, has been leaving his signature street art in New York during a month-long residency dubbed “Better Out Than In.” Through October, the artist has been tagging walls with his work as well as putting together several installations, one of which includes a truck driving around the Meatpacking District filled with stuffed animals.
The artist recently set up a street art stand in Central Park on Saturday where an unknown man sold canvases labeled “spray art,” priced modestly at $60 each. The artist, whose pieces have sold for upwards of $1.8 million dollars, made a total of $420 at the street sale.
