BBC AMERICA Announces New Sci-Fi Thriller Intruders
BBC AMERICA has announced plans to produce a new original series based off Marshall Smith’s novel The Intruders.
Set in the Pacific Northwest, The Intruders follows the story of an ex-cop Jack Whalen, who begins to investigate a series of strange disappearances after his wife goes missing. Whalen’s investigation leads him to discover the existence of a “secret society devoted to chasing immortality by seeking refuge in the bodies of others.”
The show will be executive produced by Jane Tranter (Rome) and Julie Gardner (Doctor Who). The script for the series will be provided by mystery/sci-fi juggernaut Glen Morgan, who produced and wrote for The X-Files. “I am excited to be working with Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner who have been so groundbreaking in this genre across both sides of the Atlantic, and I am delighted BBC AMERICA has greenlit Intruders to series," Morgan said.
“Intruders features an imaginative premise that fits perfectly with BBC AMERICA’s signature block of complex and otherworldly dramas led by Doctor Who and Orphan Black," said Perry Simon, General Manager of BBC AMERICA.
Intruders is set to begin production in spring 2014.
