Cat Power to Perform at Elliott Smith Tribute Show in Brooklyn
It’s hard to believe that Oct. 21 will mark the 10-year anniversary of songwriter Elliott Smith’s death.
To commemorate the musician’s legacy, The Bomber Jacket will put on a Elliott Smith tribute show at Brooklyn’s Glasslands Gallery whose ticket proceeds will benefit the memorial fund in his name, Pitchfork reports.
The line-up includes Cat Power, DIIV frontman Zachary Cole Smith, Sky Ferreira, WHY’s Yoni Wolf, Sadie Dupuis of Speedy Ortiz as well as many others.
Ticket proceeds will go towards a memorial fund in Smith’s name as well as Outside In and Free Arts for Abused Children — two Portland area non-profits that support underprivileged youth.
The Bomber Jacket has also launched an IndieGogo fundraiser for Outside In in association with the tribute concert.
You can buy tickets for the show here.
