David Letterman has just extended his contract with CBS until 2015, meaning that audiences across the country can enjoy his late-night antics for a couple more years.
Letterman, who will continue to host his Late Show with David Letterman, made this decision after lengthy negotiations with CBS Corp’s CEO Leslie Moonves, Deadline reports.
“There is only one Dave, and we are extremely proud that he continues to call CBS ‘home,’” Moonves stated, regarding the extension of Letterman’s contract.
The late-night host, who has appeared on CBS for the last 20 years, joked that he would need some more time to “fully run [his] show into the ground.”
The extension will further solidify Letterman’s reign as the king of late-night. With 31 years thus far, Letterman is the longest-running late-night talk show host in television history.
