Dogfish Head Introduces Beer Made with Moon Dust

Dogfish Head has concocted a new brew that is actually out of this world.

The brewery has joined forces with the ILC Dover — which designs and produces space suits for NASA — to infuse their new line of malt beers with moon dust, according to a press release on the Dogfish Head website.

The new moon dust beer is called Celest-jewel-ale and contains notes of “doughy malt, toasted bread, subtle caramel and a light herbal bitterness.” The dust comes from crushed lunar meteorites and adds a “subtle but complex earthiness” to the beer’s flavor, according to the site.

Unfortunately, the beer is not yet set for wide release. Dogfish Head is currently producing it in small batches that are served only at its brewpub in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
