After traveling through space and time as the current Doctor Who, Matt Smith’s next adventure will put him in the shoes of the infamous Patrick Bateman.
Smith has been chosen to star in the London production of American Psycho, based on the Bret Easton Ellis novel of the same name. The show was written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who has worked on Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, Big Love and Glee, with music by Duncan Sheik, who also composed the music for Spring Awakening.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Rupert Goold production of the show will begin performances on Dec. 3 at the Almeida Theatre in London. The show’s opening night is Dec. 12 and will run through January 25, 2014.
Smith will conclude his run as Doctor Who on the show’s Christmas special, with Peter Capaldi taking over the role after.
