Morrissey is, "In Technical Fact," Humasexual
Morrissey’s sexual orientation has been the subject of seemingly endless amounts of speculation for nearly three decades now, and for the most part, the iconic singer/songwriter has never felt the need to address questions of his personal life. But with the release of his new autobiography last week, the 54-year-old fanned the flames once again when he revealed that he had a two-year relationship with a man named Jake Walters, a man he met at a restaurant when he was 35.
“For the first time in my life the eternal ‘I’ becomes ‘we’, as, finally, I can get on with someone,” Morrissey said. “Jake and I neither sought nor needed company other than our own for the whirlwind stretch to come.” Morrissey rarely discussed his private life when he was a member of the Smiths, though he often cited that he was happily celibate, and now, thanks to a recent message that was allegedly posted by Morrissey to fan website True To You, the singer has definitively declared that he is … humasexual.
“Unfortunately, I am not homosexual. In technical fact, I am humasexual. I am attracted to humans. But, of course … not many." As always, a wistful response from Morrissey to remind fans that the whole issue is—well—criminally vulgar.
