The Who to Tour for Last Time in 2015
The 50th anniversary for the legendary rock idols The Who is coming up in 2015. It will also be the last time the band will tour the world before calling it quits.
In an interview with the Evening Standard in London, Who guitarist Pete Townshend revealed that their world tour in 2015 will be their last. “For the 50th anniversary we’ll tour the world,” Townshend said. “It’ll be the last big one for us. There are still plenty of places we’ve not played. It would be good to go to eastern Europe and places that haven’t heard us play all the old hits.”
The Who recently embarked on a massive tour last year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their 1973 album Quadrophenia. Their debut album, My Generation, turns 50 in 2015. The Who are currently promoting a new film, The Story of The Who’s Tommy, documenting the making of their 1969 rock opera Tommy. Their special-edition box set of Tommy will be released Nov. 11.
