Tina Fey, Amy Poehler Returning to Host Golden Globes
As a slightly less offensive alternative to Ricky Gervais, the Golden Globes made the decision last year to hand over the hosting reins to comedic duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
The decision paid off. Fey and Poehler brought in close to 20 million total viewers, making it the highest-rated Golden Globes in six years. Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced Fey and Poehler have signed a deal with NBC that will see the two return to host the ceremony in 2014 and 2015.
“Tina and Amy are two of the most talented comedic writer/performers in our business, and they were a major reason the Golden Globes was the most entertaining awards show of last season,” said Paul Telegdy, NBC president of alternative and late night programming. “We’re elated they wanted to host together again and that they committed for the next two years.”
The 71st Golden Globes Awards will air Jan. 12, 2014.
