After years of speculation, rumors, denials and the ever-looming presence of the crucial question of “will they, won’t they?” it looks like OutKast will officially end their seven-year hiatus at next year’s Coachella Music Festival. The news comes a day after multiple sources reported that the hip-hop duo were discussing plans for live performances.
Diddy’s Revolt TV confirmed that “the reunion is currently set to exist solely in the live setting, with no new album plans in sight, for now.”
To make the occasion even sweeter, longtime OutKast collaborator Sleepy Brown posted a celebratory photo to Instagram which claims that Big Boi and André 3000 will be the headlining act at Coachella next year. The 2014 festival is set to kick off April 11 in Indio, California, just about 20 years to the day that the duo released their 1994 debut album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik.
