November is turning out to be a pretty good month for Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele. Today, Deadline reported that the duo have signed a deal to write a feature film with comedy impresario Judd Apatow for Universal Pictures. The news comes out just two weeks after Comedy Central renewed their eponymous sketch show for a fourth season, giving fans of both Key & Peele the show and Key and Peele the comedy team plenty to look forward to.
Unfortunately, few details are known about the upcoming movie project, which is currently untitled. In any case, the MADtv alums’ new writing partner is optimistic.
“I love these guys because they are riotously, make you sick because you can’t stop laughing, funny,” said Apatow. “I think Key and Peele are capable of making the movie that America desperately needs right now.”
And hey, worst case scenario, we’ll get the 90-minute version of the East/West College Bowl sketch we’ve all been waiting for.
