Morrissey Isn't Happy About President Obama's Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Pardon

The turkey you will festively slice tomorrow evening isn’t succulent, tasty or kind according to singer and world’s most outspoken vegetarian Stephen Patrick Morrissey. In fact, Moz put out an open letter titled “Thankskilling” to the entire meat-eating world yesterday, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. In the letter, which is posted on Morrissey fan site True To You, issued some heavy consternation toward President Obama and the White House’s annual turkey pardoning tradition in a way only he can:

Please ignore the abysmal example set by President Obama who, in the name of Thanksgiving, supports torture as 45 million birds are horrifically abused; dragged through electrified stun baths, and then have their throats slit. And President Obama laughs. Haha, so funny!

As Ingrid Newkirk from PETA points out, turkey ‘meat’ is one of “our nation’s top killers”, causing heart-attacks and strokes in humans due to saturated animal fats and cholesterol. And President Obama laughs.

Further, the meat industry is responsible for 51% of human-caused greenhouse-gas emission, therefore the embarrassingly stupid White House ‘turkey pardon’ is open support for a viciously cruel and environmentally irresponsible industry.

And President Obama laughs.

With Thankskilling comes the start of this year’s holiday shopping season, and Morrissey’s autobiography will make its way to American retail stores next week.
