Highland Brewing Goes Big For 2014: New Packaging, New Beers

Asheville’s original and most iconic brewery, Highland Brewing Company, has unveiled the completely redesigned packaging for its lineup of year-round and seasonal brews via Beer Pulse. You’ll still see the Celtic-dude with bagpipes, but you’ll also find distinctive Celtic art on each label’s background.

Highland is shaking up its labels to help celebrate it’s 20th anniversary in 2014. Highland started the beer craze in Asheville two decades ago. And even though a new brewery launches in the South’s Beer City every week (okay, maybe not every week), Highland is still the brewery litmus test in Asheville.

In addition to the new artwork, Highland will release a special 20th Anniversary beer in April, followed by a series of 20 special beers throughout the remainder of 2014. It’s gonna be a great year.

Happy birthday Highland. I just hope your new labels don’t inspire a renewed interest in Celtic tattoos.
