David Bowie has one last surprise before 2013 is up. After quietly releasing his 24th studio album The Next Day in March, Bowie has continued to dole out extras for the album throughout the year.
In October, Bowie released The Next Day Extra, a three-disc special edition featuring the original 14-track album, a 10-track bonus album and a DVD with four additional videos from the album (“Where Are We Now?,” “The Stars (Are Out Tonight),” “Valentines Day” and “The Next Day”). The singer also released two additional videos for his track “Love Is Lost (Hello Steve Reich Mix by James Murphy).”
Today, Bowie has released a new video for his track “I’d Rather Be High (Venetian Mix),” a bonus track on The Next Day Extra Deluxe Edition. Directed by Tom Hingston, the eerie video features old WWI footage of soldiers fighting in the trenches and dancing around with gas masks on, split with grainy clips of Bowie singing.
