Spike Jonze has released another trailer for his newest film Her.
The latest trailer shows additional scenes of Phoenix, who plays Theodore, kindling his romance with Samantha (Scarlett Johanson), an operating system who helps him get over a painful breakup. As his “relationship” with Samantha grows, the line between reality and imitation begins to become blurred for Theodore and makes him question what it really means to love.
For his new film, Jonze has also enlisted the help of Arcade Fire to score the movie. The band’s new Reflektor track “Supersymmetry,” is featured in the trailer. Jonze and Arcade Fire have worked on several projects together in the last few years. Jonze directed the band’s series of short films Scenes From The Suburbs in 2011, and Arcade Fire’s song “Wake Up” brought the band massive attention in 2009, when it was used in Jonze’s trailer for Where the Wild Things Are.
Her hits theaters January 10, 2014.
