Independent Games Festival Announces 2014 Finalists

Earlier today the Independent Games Festival announced the finalists for their 2014 awards. The 16th installment of the IGF’s awards will celebrate over 30 of the best independent games of the last year, including such Paste favorites as The Stanley Parable, Papers, Please, 868-HACK and Device 6. The winners will be announced during this year’s Game Developers Conference in San Francisco on Wednesday, March 19.

This year the IGF will be distributing almost $60,000 to the winning developers, with $30,000 going to the winner of the Seumus McNally Grand Prize. Minecraft, Cart Life, Kentucky Route Zero, Spelunky, FTL: Faster Than Light and many other of the best games of recent years have won various IGF awards, and this year’s list of nominees is full of games worthy of joining that illustrious company.

The full list of 2014 IGF Award nominees and honorable mentions is below. There will also be an IGF Audience Award picked from the Main Competition finalists, voting for which begins on February 18.
