The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival officially announced its 2014 music lineup today. Judging by the guest list, it appears that Jazz Fest is celebrating its 45th anniversary as if it were its 50th. Some of the names that top the bill include Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Phish and Arcade Fire.
As has been the case in past years, the lineup serves up a jambalaya of both contemporary and classic performers, as well as a hearty selection of local artists that showcases New Orleans’ gospel, blues, jazz, rock, R&B, Cajun and country roots. Representing the local flavor this year are acts such as Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Allen Toussaint, Aaron Neville and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, among others.
Jazz Fest will run seven days across two consecutive weekends, April 25-27 and May 1-4. Advanced single-day tickets for Jazz Fest are currently available for $50 through January 31, when the price will increase to $55.
