The filming for the latest season of Doctor Who has begun and BBC America has revealed the costume that actor Peter Capaldi will wear. Last June the 11th Doctor, Matt Smith, announced that he would be leaving the show. Two months later, BBC America named Capaldi as the 12th Doctor.
Capaldi’s costume was designed by Howard Burden, which contains a dark blue Crombie coat with red lining, dark blue trousers, a white shirt and black Doc Marten shoes. Capaldi expressed how impressed he was by Burden’s choices, “He’s woven the future from the cloth of the past. Simple, stark and back to basics. No frills, no scarf, no messing, just 100 percent Rebel Time Lord.”
