One of the most highly anticipated beer releases of the year is right around the corner. Russian River Brewing Company has announced the release of their beloved Pliny the Younger, a triple IPA. They’ll release the beer at their Santa Rosa, Calif. brewpub beginning February 7th, allocating a limited amount of draft beer each day until they run out. They’ll release the beer every day at the brewpub through February 20th. The following week, they’ll distribute the beer to their regular accounts, but don’t look for bottles or growlers. It’s draft only as always.
2014 is the 10th anniversary for Pliny the Younger, which has become one of the few brews that craft beer lovers will drive 1,000 miles to experience, at least once in their life. Santa Rosa hotels run special deals for Russian River fans. You’re only allowed three 10-ounce pours a day, and you may have to wait for hours before you get a chance to enter the brewpub. But Younger season is fleeting, and most will tell you, it’s worth the hype.
