The Governor—AKA David Morrissey—to Star in BBC Thriller

David Morrissey—the genius behind The Walking Dead’s greatest character, The Governor—will star in The Driver, a three-part thriller set to air later this year on BBC One.

Morrissey, one of the show’s executive producers, will play a taxi driver burdened by guilt after a family tragedy who accepts a job driving for a criminal gang. Chaos and consequences ensue, but according to the BBC, this is a tale of redemption. (But if they think this will stop my angry letters to AMC complaining that The Governor was never given his own shot at redemption, they would be dead wrong.)

Jamie Payne (Doctor Who) will direct a script written by David Brocklehurst (Shameless U.K.), and the show co-stars Ian Hart and Colm Meaney. Shooting begins this week in the U.K.
