Watch the First Official Trailer for Terry Gilliam's The Zero Theorem

After screening at the 70th Venice International Film Festival in September, Terry Gilliam’s forthcoming film The Zero Theorem officially has its first trailer and it looks very, well, Gilliam-ish. The film stars Christoph Waltz as Qohen Leth, a reclusive computer genius mysteriously charged with the task of developing a formula to prove whether life holds meaning or not as he wrestles with his own feelings of love, desire and existential anxiety amid a futuristic world of neon-lit, cartoonish industrialism.

The imaginative director is of course no stranger to dystopian science fiction, and has even referred to The Zero Theorem as being the final part of a satirical trilogy that includes 1985’s Brazil and 1995’s 12 Monkeys. The film has yet to be given an official release date.
