Fred Willard Joins Cast of Amy Poehler and David Wain's Old Soul

For years, Fred Willard has had minor but memorable roles in films like Anchorman and Best in Show, but it looks like the veteran comic actor might soon command a bit more of the spotlight. Deadline reports Willard will be co-starring in Old Soul, a new NBC pilot created and executive produced by Amy Poehler.

The single-camera comedy follows Orange is the New Black’s Natasha Lyonne as Nadia, a caretaker for the elderly, with Willard to play Hector, one of her clients. Also in the cast is West Side Story’s Rita Moreno, who will portray Hector’s wife Rita. Role Models director and The State troupe member David Wain is set to direct the pilot, making this the fourth collaboration between Poehler and Wain since 2001’s Wet Hot American Summer.
