Love For Sale: Valentines Influenced By Talking Heads

Art by Andy J. Miller

If Valentine’s Day and the Talking Heads aren’t synonyms in your vocabulary, they should be now. On Feb. 13, Land Gallery in Portland, Ore. will hold a show curated by friends Frank Chimero, Kate Bingaman-Burt and Will Bryant, cleverly titled Love For Sale: Valentines Influenced By Talking Heads. (Don’t get it? See here.) The group style show will present valentines based on the love songs from the Talking Heads catalog. Chimero and friends decided on the exhibition theme for simple reasons: a shared love of the Talking Heads and the coming Valentine’s holiday.

Their gallery site states “Bring someone you love and stand next to them.” So, if you’re in the Portland area, bring your David Byrne obsessed honey and check out some neat pieces. The show will display the art of over 40 artists from Portland and beyond, including Jessica Hische and Skinny Ships.
