<em>True Detective</em>'s Cary Fukunaga To Direct a War Movie

Cary Fukunaga has earned deserved praise for his work directing the entire first season of True Detective, and the “battle” scenes—especially the famous six-minute tracking shot in episode four—have been particularly riveting. So it’s both logical and exciting that his next project will be a movie set in a “contemporary wartime context,” according to Deadline.

The untitled project, which will be written by up-and-comer Nicole Riegel, was bought by 20th Century Fox on Friday. And while we here at Paste normally don’t make a habit of starting rumors, we’ll make an exception now. So…ahem: Did you hear Fukunaga’s war movie is going to be a 180-minute continuous take???
