In the wake of Justin Bieber’s ill-fated Lambo drag race and Pharrell’s mountain ranger hat taking the Grammys by storm, President Obama delivered his 2014 State of the Union address on Tuesday. He failed to mention either of the aforementioned landmark cultural events, instead opting to touch on “real” “issues.” It was an uplifting speech, as usual, but it might have served no greater purpose than allowing Republicans a dedicated hour of staring at the president and thinking of new ways to despise him. Like I said, though, uplifting stuff.
