This is the World’s First Electric Toothbrush That Connects To Your Smartphone

Tech Features Smartphone

Electric toothbrushes have been a fantastic tool in the fight against tooth decay and general dental issues. They could be better though, which is the thought process behind Kolibree. Kolibree is the world’s first electric toothbrush that’s connected to your iOS or Android device.

By hooking it up to your smartphone, you can then keep track of your brushing habits in real time, thereby knowing exactly where you can improve. It’ll even motivate you through games and score keeping! The idea for Kolibree comes from a New York firm of the same name, with a recent Kickstarter campaign helping to launch it.

With plenty of sensors inside Kolibree, it can tell you exactly where you’re missing out on your mouth so there’s no need to wait until your dentist tells you what you need to correct. Instead, you can get things right the first time round. You’ll even be able to share your brushing reports with them, so they know exactly what’s going on.

For kids, there are simple games based upon cleaning up candy or racing a car, easily encouraging them to brush better and more frequently.

Lightweight, practical, and fun, Kolibree is currently available via a Kickstarter based pledge of $99. There are limited numbers at this Early Bird price, with it steadily increasing to $129 and $149 once allocated numbers are used up. Regardless, that’s a very inexpensive price to pay compared to the pain and financial suffering of needing to pay for dental treatment. Kolibree has until May 25 to run.
