As it turns out, Sherlock Holmes prefers cigars to pipes. That is, according to Sr. Ian McKellan’s portrayal of the aging detective in the new trailer for Mr. Holmes.
The Bill Condon-directed film, which also stars Laura Linney, will feature McKellan’s Holmes combating popularized misconceptions of himself before setting out to solve one last case. The story is based on the Mitch Cullin novel A Slight Trick of the Mind.
Mr. Holmes is set to hit theaters on July 17.
