North of Nine was more than halfway through their segment of the Live At Aloft Hotels 2015 Tour when they rolled into the Aloft Dallas Downtown for their performance last month. By the time the band took the stage that night at the W XYZ® bar, fans of all ages had turned out for the performance, singing along as frontman Jackson Guthy and bandmates served up tracks from their debut EP Alive along with a spirited cover of The Killers’ “Mister Brightside.”
They were certainly a tight group on stage, but when we caught up with the band during the day and after the show, they were quick to explain that their sound is the result of a wide variety of backgrounds and influences. They talked about working with Randy Jackson, finding each other within the L.A. music scene and what it’s like to bond with their fans.
