In anticipation for New York Fashion Week, coming September 10 through 17, we decided to take a look back at the trends shown from the Fall/Winter 2015 collections. As the days grow shorter and layers are officially back on the racks, the heavy shearling coats and wool pantsuits shown last spring are finally ready to wear. The time is nigh, and trust us, there are plenty of looks to chose from.

1. The Mystical Bohemian

A possible response to normcore and minimalism, the bohemian trend is here to stay. With lush patterns, textures and prints, this look is about layered pieces and high drama. Heavier fabrics, especially brocade, make a statement in darker hues. Valentino’s bohemian fell a touch more on the witchy spectrum than say, a seventies, disco diva, but this mystical free spirit still knows how to rock a maxi dress and billowy silhouette.

2. Grey Gardens Grannie
Grandma style has been around for several seasons now and shows no sign of stopping. Whether it was Gucci’s The Royal Tenebaums-inspired lunching ladies, or Maison Margiela’s kooky magpies, the more eclectic, the better. Tweed and patterned silk blouses brought a playful movement to the look and kept a youthful undercurrent running strong beneath the dowdy silhouettes. A touch conservative, this style has office-appropriate written all over it, even if your grandmother hasn’t worked in decades.
3. Sparse Luxury

Though bigger is better and bolder is brighter this season, there is still room for those classic staples everyone loves. Chloe showcased a paired down collection for FW15, but the flared pantsuits and autumnal palette were a September babe’s dream. Think Katherine Hepburn’s pragmatism matched by a cheeky Jane Birkin coolness and voila, a sensual simplicity is born.

4. Paint it Black
While the color black will always be timeless and chic, FW15 infused a gothic edge to an all-black ensemble. With patent leather accessories, head to toe midnight shades and high necklines, black is back. While Alexander Wang often favors this palette, another Alexander, McQueen, led by Sarah Burton to be exact, got in the game with Victorian-era inspired styling. Either way, black is a wardrobe staple every closet can benefit from.
5. Faux Furrier

While some designers went big when it came to fur, think full-on fur jackets á la Sandy Liang and her oversized coats, or simpler with just a touch of fur on the collar like Coach, it didn’t seem to matter: everyone is all about the fur. Ohne Titel took their fur to neon extremes with pink and blue hues casting a warm electric brightness throughout their collection. With these faux options and shearling-lined coats, the colder months never looked so plush or felt so warm.
