Like Chuck Esterly, I have performed stand-up comedy exactly one time in my life. I was 21 years old, safely in another country (Ireland), and I only did it because I felt like I needed to force myself to try. I was scared shitless, and I can honestly say that it was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences of my life, and one which I’ve never felt compelled to repeat.
Chuck Esterly is not 21 years old, and he’s not in Ireland. Chuck Esterly is a ballsy 89-year-old man (!!!) who lives in Cincinnati and decided that this was the point in life when he wanted to take a stand-up comedy class. At the conclusion of his class, he performed at Go Bananas Comedy Club in his stand-up debut. And the dude killed it!
