Courtney Barnett Shares Instantly Infectious Song About Instant Noodles

Music News Courtney Barnett

You’d think after all her success Courtney Barnett would be enjoying something more top shelf than top ramen, but the Aussie singer’s new single is an ode to the instant noodle. “Three Packs a Day” is featured on Milk! Records’ second compilation album Good for You , which is due out on Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14).

In usual Barnett fashion the song is clever and slightly dark, comparing a ramen noodle addiction to a nicotine habit. The song’s jaunty guitar line and harmonica solo give the song an upbeat quality until Barnett sings about furtively boiling noodles and isolating herself from her friends.
