Teen Suicide Post New Song, “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes”

If you check out Teen Suicide’s BandCamp page you’ll see Sam Ray’s band hasn’t released anything new since Feb. 2013. Then, two days ago, Ray quietly and unceremoniously posted a new song on the band’s Tumblr.

The track, titled “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,” is also available as a download on the band’s Facebook page where a pair of parenthesis mention that the song is unmastered. Recently, on Dec. 4 of last year, Ray, who also records under the names Ricky Eat Acid and Julia Brown, reunited with his band to play Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right. The show was to plug label Run for Cover’s reissuing of a few Teen Suicide albums.

Whether the band is working on new material is unknown, but the “new” song has the band’s trademark sound. Lo-fi loops of sound collages and obscured cottonmouth vocals that have become familiar Alex G territory.
