Stephen King’s The Mist Will Become A Spike Series

TV News Stephen King

Nine years after being adapted into a solid horror film by The Walking Dead’s Frank Darabont, Stephen King’s The Mist is coming to the small screen as a 10-episode series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Spike TV has ordered the series, which will be the network’s first scripted drama in a decade, for a 2017 debut.

Spike was supposed to return to the scripted drama space sooner than this, but both the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced Harvest and Red Mars fell through recently. Dimension TV is producing The Mist, and Christian Torpe of the Danish series Rita is on board as a writer and executive producer.

It remains to be seen who will be cast in The Mist, but we’ll keep you updated. Meanwhile, check out our list of the best Stephen King film adaptations (The Mist ranks ninth).
