Music News Leonard Cohen

If only we could all keep up with Leonard Cohen at his age. Now 82 years old, the legendary Canadian singer/songwriter just announced his 14th studio album, You Want It Darker, to be released this fall. While Cohen has not yet set an exact release date, he has detailed the album’s nine-song track list.

Following his last studio album, 2014’s Popular Problems, as well as the 2015 live compilation album Can’t Forget: A Souvenir of the Grand Tour, Cohen’s latest album will be released via his longtime record label, Sony Records. His son Adam Cohen produced the album. Sony has already called the album a haunting masterpiece, proclaiming the album to be “Classic Cohen.”

Back in June, the album’s title track appeared in part on the television show Peaky Binders. Cohen also recently penned a farewell letter for Marianne Ihlen, the woman who inspired multiple Cohen classics, including “Bird On A Wire” and “So Long Marianne.”
