Jake Gyllenhaal, Carey Mulligan Will Star in Paul Dano’s Directorial Debut, Wildlife

Movies News Paul Dano

Paul Dano’s recruited some serious star power for his directorial debut. Jake Gyllenhaal and Carey Mulligan are set to star in Wildlife, which will begin production in November.

Dano wrote the script for the film with Zoe Kazan. Based on a 1990 novel by Richard Ford, Wildlife follows a teenager who sees his parents marriage deteriorate following the family’s move to Montana. Kazan will be executive-producing the film alongside Eddie Vaisman. Gyllenhaal and Riva Marker will be producing via Nine Stories, while Andrew Duncan and Alex Saks produce via June Pictures.

Gyllenhaal is next set to appear in Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals, while Mulligan was last seen in 2015’s Suffragette. Dano himself has starred in numerous critically acclaimed films over the course of his career, and is now set to use the skills he learned on set to take over in the director’s chair. Although production hasn’t started yet, Wildlife has some definite promise.
