Tom Hanks, Emily Blunt Will Host Saturday Night Live

Comedy News Saturday Night Live

Tom Hanks is one of Saturday Night Live’s most frequent hosts, and now the actor is returning to Studio 8H for the ninth time. Hanks will host the show on Oct. 22, it was announced on Friday.

Lady Gaga, who will be performing at the Super Bowl and is gearing up for the release of her forthcoming album Joanne, will be the musical guest on that date. Hanks will be on the show promoting Sully, which recently crossed the $100 million mark at the box office, and the forthcoming Inferno, the latest Dan Brown film featuring Hanks.

Before Hanks can deliver his monologue, though, Emily Blunt will be delivering hers. The Girl on the Train star is set to host the show on Oct. 15 alongside musical guest Bruno Mars, who will be making his fourth appearance as a musical guest to promote the release of his third album, 24K.

The news comes after a ratings win for SNL, which saw its biggest premiere ratings since 2008, and its biggest ratings overall since 2014. That episode featured the introduction of Alec Baldwin’s Donald Trump in a glorious cold-open that parodied the first presidential debate. This Saturday, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda will be taking his first turn as host—watch his promos here.
