Hear What Insomniac Games CEO Ted Price Has to Say About Trump’s Immigration Ban

Insomniac Games and their CEO Ted Price released a video statement yesterday definitively condemning the rapid and brutal shift in U.S. immigration policy made by the Trump administration last Friday.

In the video, standing before much of his diverse dev team, Price calls the ban “deplorable” and urges fans to both contact their congress members and donate to opposition groups in protest of the ban. He appealed to those watching:

We at Insomniac Games stand united in strongly opposing President Trump’s immigration ban. There’s no question that these orders will harm us as a company and many of our team members. So we ask ‘Is this the American way? Is discriminating based on religious faith or national origin American?’ Absolutely not. This is a deplorable, discriminatory act that we and many others across the nation believe is patently unconstitutional. We have been, we are and we will always be a nation of immigrants.

In the YouTube video’s description, Insomniac provided links to the Senate and House of Representatives websites, as well as links to the ACLU and Change.org. The developer was also wise enough to disable comments on the page.

Insomniac is best known for franchises like Ratchet and Clank, Resistance and Spyro the Dragon. Last year, they put out VR titles Edge of Nowhere and The Unspoken, as well as the metroidvania-esque Song of the Deep. Next up for the company is the PS4-exclusive Spider-Man game officially revealed during last year’s E3. There’s currently no release date for the much-hyped superhero title—take a look at its announcement trailer below.
