Belle and Sebastian Announce 2017 Tour Dates, Plan New Album

It’s been more than two years since Belle and Sebastian dropped the gentle dance album Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance but the indie-pop septet is still supporting their twee discotheque record.

In late-July, Belle and Sebastian are hitting the road and winding around the U.S. and Canada. Stuart Murdoch and company will be playing choice selections from the aforementioned record, along with songs off of past albums and new material from a forthcoming release to be revealed later in 2017 via Matador Records.

The tour starts in Toronto on July 27 with 2015 Best of What’s Next pick Julien Baker opening, and will feature shows with Spoon, Andrew Bird, Ex Hex, Porches and Benjamin Clementine.

Tickets go on sale here on Friday (except for L.A. and Raleigh). Tickets for the Raleigh show go on sale on Feb. 24 and details for the Hollywood Bowl show can be found here. Find Belle and Sebastian’s full slate of dates below, along with the video for Girls in Peacetime cut “Nobody’s Empire” and a 2014 chat with Murdoch from the Paste Cloud.
