6 Cocktails To Up Your Brunch Game

Brunch. When it comes to weekend meals, there’s nothing quite like it. While admittedly I get pretty excited about any opportunity to eat pancakes, there’s definitely something to be said for it being socially acceptable to pull out the cocktails before noon as well.

Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s have long dominated the brunch cocktail space. However, there are a ton of different brunch cocktail options out there that are definitely worth your attention. Here are a few suggestions of what to shake up this weekend.


The Layover

Ingredients:
2 oz. Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
3 oz. cold brew
1 oz. ginger syrup
Juice of 1 lime wedge

Directions: Shake vigorously and strain into a coupe. Garnish with a lime wheel.


Herbal Tipple

Ingredients:
2 oz. VDKA 6100
.75 oz. Lillet
.5 oz. Lavender syrup
Garnish: Edible flower

Directions: Build in a mixing glass, stir, and strain into a martini glass. Garnish.


Thames Lemonade

Ingredient:
2 oz. Fords Gin
.5 oz. Dolin Genepy
.5 oz. lemon juice
.5 oz. simple syrup
2 large basil leaves, torn

Directions: Shake, double strain over new ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with fresh whole blackberries and lemon bitters.


Notting Hill

Ingredients:
2 oz. Portobello Road Gin
.75 oz. lemon juice
.75 oz. Small Hand Foods tonic syrup
Muddled mint
Cucumber juice float
Garnish: Mint spring and cucumber slices

Directions: Swizzle. Cap with ice


Le Japonais

2 oz. Armagnac
.5 oz. Orgeat
4 dashes Angostura

Directions: Stir, strain into a coupe and top with a healthy float of Veuve Clicquot. Add some edible flowers

2 oz. Dorothy Parker Gin
.5 oz. lemon juice
.5 oz. hibiscus syrup
.75 oz. Combier Orange Liqueur
Top: club soda

Directions: Shake ingredients over ice and strain
