Watch the Trailer for Johnny Mundo’s New Movie Boone: The Bounty Hunter

Johnny Mundo, one of the top stars of Lucha Underground, has had many names over the years: John Morrison, Johnny Nitro, Johnny Spade, Johnny Blaze. His birth certificate says John Hennigan, though, and it’s under that name that he stars in the upcoming action movie Boone: The Bounty Hunter.

In a recent conversation Mundo told Paste that the movie, which he co-wrote, combines several of his real-life passions. It’s an ‘80s-style action throwback, with real stuntwork performed by the man himself, built around his real-life prodigiousness at parkour and pro wrestling. Boone clearly means a lot to Mundo: he even sold his house to finance the film.

Based on the trailer above, it’ll have exactly the kind of tone a movie like this should have: breezy, fun and cheesy, but with hard-hitting old-school stunts, and cameos from perennial straight-to-video faves like Lorenzo Lamas, Kevin Sorbo and Corbin Bernsen. Also joining Hennigan in his passion project are Spencer Grammer (the voice of Summer on Rick & Morty), MMA champ Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Supernatural’s Osric Chau, Jonathan Lipnicki, Richard Tyson, Dominique Swain and Jane Park Smith in what is easily one of the more unexpected collections of actors we’ve seen in a cast list lately.

Boone: The Bounty Hunter will be available on VOD on May 9 and on DVD at Wal-Marts nationwide on June 6.
