Watch the Leaked Trailer for Star Wars Battlefront II

In the lead-up to this week’s reveal-packed Star Wars Celebration, the trailer for EA and DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront II leaked last night.

Though brief, the video reflects EA’s efforts to win back disappointed fans who found 2015’s Star Wars Battlefront’s lack of a narrative-driven single-player campaign disturbing. Focusing on “The Untold Soldier’s Story,” the sequel’s spotlight appears to be on a loyal Empire soldier played by Janina Gavankar, whom we all expect to be fighting for the Rebel Alliance/Resistance by the end of the game, right? We get a good look at the unnamed soldier and her fellow troops watching the second Death Star explode from Endor, and her shouting of “Avenge our emperor!” can be clearly heard in the back half of the trailer.

The leaked video also touts the series’ return to the prequel era (with glimpses of a lightsaber-wielding Yoda and Darth Maul), as well as its inclusion of Rey and Kylo Ren from the most recent The Force Awakens. Players who preorder the game will also apparently be granted access to heroes specifically from this December’s forthcoming The Last Jedi.

While no actual gameplay is shown in the trailer, the cinematic footage suggests both a wider selection of playable maps and a possible return to space battles. As Orlando, Fla.’s Star Wars Celebration officially kicks off tomorrow, hopefully it won’t be long before many of these details are cleared up for fans.
