Along with the 11-minute drum solo performed by drummer Zach Hill, Death Grips have shared a promo for their upcoming tour with an eerie narration software voice narrating very bland things like, “The North American group of creatives known as Death Grips are preparing to start a U.S. Tour with Ministry.” With Death Grips, it’s about the sheer industrial force of the music—and the brevity.
The drum solo is a single take of the tour promo, with Zach Hill raging on some Roland V-Drums. This week, Death Grips will actually embark on the tour, which means all of this noise will come to life and leave your brain a sack of steel marbles. Their most recent release: a 22-minute piece of music called “Steroids (Crouching Tiger Hidden Gabber Megamix),” which to us sounded like it was made up of “material possibly left on the cutting room floor from past records.”
