DC Comics To Release Watchmen Prequels
The series, aptly entitled Before Watchmen, will follow the Watchmen as well as the Minutemen, the original super group. Canongate will publish the late street poet and hip-hop progenitor Gil Scott-Heron's memoir, titled _The Last Holiday_, on Martin Luther King Day (Jan. 16), as The Wire points out. Christopher Hitchens: 1949-2011
Christopher Hitchens, a British author and journalist who wrote for The Atlantic, Vanity Fair, Slate and The Nation has died at 62 after developing cancer of the esophagus, the Wall Street Journal reported. Hitchens died last night at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston of pneumonia, which was a complication of his cancer. read more
Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy To Become Graphic Novel Series
The American film adaptation of Swedish author Stieg Larsson's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is set to release a week from today on December 21. Given the massive success of the entirety of the late author's Millenium trilogy, which already spawned a trilogy of Swedish films all released in 2009 and is set to see th e same full treatment stateside, it comes as little surprise that DC Comics has acquired the rights to a six-part graphic novel series based on Larsson's novels. read more
